Can a new grad RN get a job as a travel nurse?

I will be graduating a LPN to RN tract program in February and I was wondering if experience is required to apply for traveling jobs?

Most travel companies and hospitals require one year if not two of experience. A travel nurse gets NO or very very very little orientation.. It's a hit the floor. A travel nurse is expensive and the hospital wants to pay for you to take care of patients not orient.

Get the year you won't regret it. You wouldn't want to be in a place where you couldn't function and risk losing your license.

I agree. You wouldn't want to try and do travel nursing as a new graduate. They'll expect you to be able to "hit the ground running" and handle your team with little or no help.

As a traveler, other nurses on the floor (knowing you're getting paid more than they are) might very well resent you and not be helpful to boot.

Not a kind environment to an experienced nurse much less a new grad.
