    Re: HELP!!!!!

Contact your local nursing school or talk to your guidance counselor at school. Those are your first contacts.

    WR,,, three commas for Becca

Most nursing programs are general and after school you go into a field you like. Some hospitals will employ LPN's in peds others won't. And that's a shame IMHO.

    Re: HELP!!!!!

we do not have LPN's in our nursery on RN's and some nurse assistants to help with general baby care. You first have to go to nursing school then get hired at a hospital that needs nursery nurses. Some hospitals will take new grads in the nursery some won't. We have very little turn over in our nursery. They do take student nurses in the nursery but that doesn't get them a job upon graduation if there is no position.

    Re: HELP!!!!!

Everything starts with Nursing School, you can go as either an RN or and LPN, the RN will open up more career options. Once you graduate, you can worry about working in the Nursery or some other area. Chances are after going through school, you'll change your mind and find something else that interests you more.

You can read about NICU nurses at http://www.nursefriendly.com/nicu/

    Good luck!
