i need advice with a ltc question

i need some advice. i work in a long term facility as a new lpn.i have two aides,me 1 nurse to about 57 residents.any way heres the thing i work my ass off helping the aides clean ,put residents on the bed pan, repositioning residents, and my nursing duties as well.last night i asked the aide if he had cleaned the soiled utility roomthe previous night,he said no.okay i told him to do it tonight on some of his down time ,as i were helping the other aide with a resident.i saw the aide(guy)just walking around,so i told him don't forget the utility room needs to be cleaned.after coming to the nursing desk to chart on a resident, the aide approached me swearing that i was riding his a.. he said do not tell me that again. i asked him to not be so disrespectful to me.then i asked him to go home.he started yelling threats to me and was up in my face.i called the assistant don, when she came it was two hours later, the adon told me she was glad the aide did not go home.she also said that if i removed myself from the situation .my licensce was going to be taken due to abandonment.i am going to quit and look for another job today.should i put in my two weeks notice or go back.the aide did not get reprimanded at all.god i am not super nurse.

I understand your frustration. I would speak with the DON and explain the situation calmly. If they are not interested in assisting you to fix the problem, I would say it's a good idea to go ahead and go. If they empathize with you and are willing to help, go ahead and give your two weeks .

Seriously, it sounds like you are in a bad place anyway. Do whatever is best for you but do not walk out on your shift or miss a one without giving them some fair warning to fill it. There's no reason to jeapordize your license or the safety of your patients...
