Fever

My sixteen year old daughter has been running a fever between 100-101.9 since thursday. She woke up Thursday morning vomiting. Some of our friends had a virus and I felt like that is what she had. When she went to bed last night her throat had started bothering here and the fever has not yet subsided. The throat is very red and has some puss looking pockets on it. Our dr's office is closed on Fridays so I didnt get to take her. Now I'm worried she could have strep and hate to wait until Monday. Should I take her to er?
