Greetings,
I am in the process of putting together my master's project which is a continuing education program for nurses on alcoholism and addiction. One piece of my plan is to interview/survey/inquire as to how much education individual nurses received in their school of nursing on the disease of alcoholism and addiction. I would very much appreciate it if colleagues reading this post would respond and give a general description of how much education was included on alcoholism/addiction in their nursing programs.

I received two semesters worth of survey courses on the topic of alcoholism and addiction. I did not receive any courses specific to the disease or addiction other the cursery review in mental health in nursing course.

On the surface I believe that the information learned in the survey course(s) on the topic is sufficient for nursing.

Thanks for your feedback; would you mind getting more specific about what the surveys entailed? If you had an opportunity to get more education about addiction and alcoholism, what would you hope to learn?
