Looking for something specific... help is appreciated!

Hi all. I am looking for something very specific in terms of nursing school and I don't even know if it exists. Let me tell you my situation.

I am an American citizen living abroad. I have a liberal arts degree already but I'm seriously considering getting into nursing. My problem is that I have obligations here (Beijing, China) for at least another year, possibly two. I would consider getting a nursing education here but as far as I know there aren't any good programs. I would like to get my nursing education started as soon as possible (don't wanna let the grass grow under my feet and all).

I am looking for an online BSN degree that is widely accepted by employers in the US. From what I understand, any online nursing degree is only actually partially online, since students still need to do clinical studies on-site.

Most programs I've found seem to be RN-BSN, not BSN as a second degree programs. Do such online programs even exist?

I would really prefer to take an online program from a public university (this is because I'm paranoid about private colleges and getting a worthless degree. Advice and comments on this issue are also welcome since I haven't done any research; I'm just going off of my own prejudices here).

I know this information is out there but it is a little overwhelming to comb through all the info out there. Thanks to anyone that can give me some feedback.
