Re: stethoscopes?

I have the Littman Master Classic II and the Littman Master Cardiology. These are some excellent stethoscopes. Whenever we land on the scene, our patient is usually waiting in an ambulance where we take a chance to listen to their breath sounds, etc. Given that noisy environment, it is quite important to have a good quality stethoscope, since we cannot hear anything with our stethoscopes in the chopper.

I would recommend the Master Classic II, it is the cheaper of the two. You can get one for around $100. The Master Cardiology runs about $200.

Re: stethoscopes?

ADC makes good scopes as well. Cougar posted something on a digital scope a while back(but those will run you about $1,000), and if you aren't a Cardiologist, I see no reason to pay that much.

Re: stethoscopes?

Remember the stethoscope you were talking about that created somewhat of an EKG tracing from auscultation?

Re: stethoscopes?

Ah, I stand corrected. It was educator nurse that posted this in the news thread. You were the one that told me where to look for it.

New stethoscope allows physicians to see what they've been hearing

I am used to all the Nursing News section posts coming from you, I suppose.

Re: stethoscopes?

Gad! I try to find things that are interesting/related to our profession. Not adverse to others throwing in their 2 cents or $2.
