dry hands?

okay i know that almost all nurses wash their hands constantly and at one point or another your hands become dry and sometimes to the point of cracking. what i would like to know is what type of lotion do you swear by that works? thanks

Plain old Vaseline Intensive Care

Corn Huskers, or anything with Lanolin in it.

Depends for me. Sometimes Vaseline, sometimes B&BW.....

I'm not a fan of fragrances or greasy residual so I don't often use hand cream although Arbonne has a pretty good one out. When my hands get really bad, I use this overnight or while you sleep treatment. Coat your hands with regular petroleum jelly, then put on plain cotton gloves, or socks, to prevent the smearing. When you get up, your hands will be much better. Do this two nights in a row and your hands will be normal. I've been doing this for years and it really does work

I like Watkin's Lemon Shea Butter hand cream. It's not greasy, doesn't have an overpowering scent, and is available at most Walmarts in my area.

The underlying points are

1. after eaching washing, apply some type of lotion/moisturizer and

2. stay away from those hand sanitizers.

They dry out more so than washing, to me.

Soak hands in warm water and a shot or two of Betadine. Don't ask, but this worked for me after a baaaad bout of dry hands and using Dial liquid soap.
