North Central Michigan College’s nursing faculty will hold informational sessions in November and December and monthly thereafter to explain the process for admission into the college’s highly competitive nursing program.

The first two informational sessions will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 11, and Wednesday, Dec. 9. Both sessions will begin at 4:15 p.m. in Room 122 of the college’s main administration/classroom building on the Petoskey campus. They will last a little more than an hour.

The sessions will provide information on the application process, the selection process and the prerequisite courses that students must have completed prior to the start of the nursing program.

Anyone planning to apply this fall for acceptance into the nursing program that starts in September 2010 is urged to attend one of these informational sessions. The sessions will also be valuable for individuals who are considering nursing as a career path and planning to submit an application for entry in a future year.

North Central Michigan College is an open-door community college based in Petoskey. Through its University Center partnerships, students can take courses leading to certificates, bachelor’s and master’s degrees from participating universities. North Central’s Institute for Business and Industry Training offers noncredit job skills training tailored to meet individual needs. In addition to its main campus in Petoskey, North Central offers classes, academic advising, testing and other services in Cheboygan, Gaylord and East Jordan.
