Pre nursing

Hello, I started my first semester of college two weeks ago. I have selected nursing as my field of study, to go along with my Math and English pre-reqs am I taking Medical Terminology and Nutrition. The school I am going to has a point system for selecting students into the nursing program. Is this typical for colleges to do? By the way I am hearing impaired, I wear aids in both ears and have only about 20% of my hearing without my hearing aids. Do you think I can still be a nurse, better yet a good nurse? What about a stethascope? One more question... I keep reading in post a group of letters that I can't comprehend... L&D.... &amp..can someone explain what these mean please. Thanks in advance for your input and knowledge.

Exclamation Re: Pre nursing

for me, i think it doest matter, anyway you can have a hearing aid, right? so i think it will be the "least" thing they can see at you.

some people thought that they will never be accepted as nurses, as because of some technicalities, such as their height, their weight and other problems that they think can hinder their outlook on studying this course.

but hell, actually in my country, there are some school(s) here that exactly look that kind of way..and i think i cannot avoid that now that here in the Philippines, nursing course is now a business.
