get your license and then apply to a unit that has a GREAT orientation/preceptorship program....you may be required to have some general experience before you can get into a speciality...it depends upon the facility and how hard up they are for staff

I'm currently working as an RN in the NICU. ALl you have to do is graduate from school, get your license, and find openings in the NICU. Most places (in California at least) don't require any other experience because most places have New Grad programs.
