Nursing school question? I was wondering what all goes on during an LPN interview to get into the program? Can some of you tell me about what all went on during your interview?

Re: Nursing school question? I think it would vary between each university/school. I had to go for an interview - not LPN interview though. There was 1 senior lecturer and the nursing selection officer sitting in on my interview. A few questions to anticipate may be: -why you want to be a nurse - Why chose the particular nursing school you applied for - What you think a nurse is responsible for these days/duties of . . - Relevant past experiences - Academic type questions, your study habits, how you think you'll manage to workload, the level of support around you - Beleive it or not, I was asked what plans I had if I wasn't accepted into the course - I have just finished a Diploma of Foundation Studies in nursing (RN) and go onto the full degree next yr. - You will probably be asked if you have any questions at the end of the interview.

Re: Nursing school question? Thank you for answering me. You were right, they asked those questions and more. There were 9 people sitting in on the interview, they are called the nursing board. Then the director of nursing. It was very nerve wrecking but I think I did okay. I answered all their questions to my best knowledge. I find out next week if I am accepted or not. I will let you know. Thanks again for the advice. I was well prepared for it.

Re: Nursing school question? Wow, I couldn't imagine having 9 people sitting in on an interview! I was pretty nervous during my interview, but from experience interviewers tend to make allowances for this. Best of luck to you - fingers crossed you are accepted! ![]()

Re: Nursing school question? The college that I am going to attend does not do interviews to get into the nursing program. They have an exam that you have to take. It's a lot of common knowledge CNA questions. Only so many with the highest scores get in. If you pass with the right score, you get in. No questions asked.

Re: Nursing school question? This is how nursing courses at TAFE conduct their selection process - TAFE courses you graduate as an RN div 2, equivalent to an LPN. Students take a common knowledge test + interview which determine if you are selected or not
