| Nurse Specialties--Diabetic nurse specialist info Hello. I am looking for information about how to become a Diabetic Nurse Specialist. I am currently studying at a community to get a career change as a nurse due to an work injury which limits my left hand typing usage (so that I can't do any sort of 80+wpm administrative job). I have tried to look on the web for this information, yet the job descriptions and how to get there are few and limited, not to mention, undescript. I still have 2 more years left of school (I am fairly new at this), and hopefully will become a Nurse. But if anyone can let me know how to get more information on being a Diabetic Nurse Specialist and some of the duties, and how to get there, I'd appreciate it. |

| Re: Nurse Specialties--Diabetic nurse specialist info My mom is an RN/Certified Diabetes Educator. She got her BSN, and worked for a while, then took CDE classes to get her certification. I'm not positive where. I'll put you in touch with her if you like. I'm not sure if that's what you're after versus some form of masters level advanced practice thing, but let me know either way. -Nate, LPN. |
