NAtional Student Nurses Association Is anyone involved in NSNA? What do you think? Are there any other organizations for student nurses? I was elected the ADN representative to the student goverment, and somehow I went from just having to attend a monthly meeting a report back to class...now I'm suddenly starting a NSNA chapter?! How did I get here? I've been nominated for chapter President, and that's great you know, but do I have time for this? Does NSNA make this easy, or am I about to have another huge undertaking that's going to compete with school? I already have work, and 18 credit hours and SGA..... SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!! I feel like I can't breathe!

Re: NAtional Student Nurses Association I was chapter president inschool long ago. NSNA is worth being in. What you do with your local chapter is up to you. I had monthly meetings. Tried to get speakers on different topics of interest ie: different paths to take in nursing...had a midwife, flight nurse, missionary nurse. We did fund raisers to get money to go to state convention. Those things also look good no that first resume. But being active now in your school nursing association will help you see it's good to be active when you are out in your state association to help set the tone of nursing in your state. It really doesn't take that much time and get other officers to help spread the joy ![]()

Re: NAtional Student Nurses Association update: I'm done with this! I started the chapter, I organize our meetings. We have four classes of first years students, so it's really touhg to get everyone together so I spend alot of time making sure the classes get updates. Well, today was the final straw!! North Carolina chapter is having a conference. We talked about it in the meeting, I mentioned it when I spoke in class and we have a bulletin board with all the NSNA information on it. I only have the dates the price and the place, I don't know any more information than you can find on the website or the bulletin board....and three students (who, BTW have NEVER attended a meeting) came up demanding info. I told them where to find it and they said "your in charge, you know, some people don't get a chance to look on the board" ITS NEXT TO THE CLASSROOM DOOR!! I'm so pissed off right now! I feel like I'm doing everything by myself, no one else "has time" to help and now I have to hold thier [censored] hands and read for them?? I'm a preprofessional president, not a brownie leader! ARGHHHH! thanks, rant over
