| Re: Im new Hey there! My name is Marianna. I am 21 years old and going to be starting nursing school in January at Trident Tech in Charleston, South Carolina. I just signed on to this forum today; I have been trying to gather as much information and advice as I can. Does anyone have any suggested reading that might tell me what to expect when I start my first semester? Like any school I there was a wait, now I am only 6 months away and stressing myself out because I don't know if I am ready. I'll take any advice you may have!! Thanks for reading what probably sounds like mental chaos. |

| Re: Im new Hi Marianna, My name is Erin and I've read that you will be starting nursing school soon. The only advice that I have is--If this is something that you really want, make sure that you work hard at it. Nursing is nothing to play with. You have to sacrifice alot. Alot of boyfriend/fiance time, party time and so forth. It may seem hard at times, but it is supposed to..You'll be dealing with lives! I started out young, just like you. I started as a nursing assistant at 20, went back to school and got married in the process at 21(I don't recommend that right off) lol, for my LPN, got pregnant while in LPN school, then went back after having 2 children and a full time job for my RN. I drove 1.5 hours away from home-one way to school every day. And now I'm doing what I've always dreamed--Being an RN. So no excuses when the times get rough ok. If I could do it. So can you. Just make sure you keep your priorities straight. It will be worth it in the long run. |
