hmmm, divine intervention? or "Accident/crisis " prone?

Hi. I'm new, and this is my second post to this board in the whole 15 minutes I've been a member.

So...my dilema: Divine intervention/message? or "accident/crisis" prone?

I'm not a nurse, but, for, *ponders* the last 20 years (nope, not a typo) especially, I have been thrust into just about every "non-immediate-doctor-required" I could imagine.

I do NOT wear scrubs or "badges" or carry anything resembling a medical bag or have bumpers stickers and whatnot on my car or person or paraphernalia(sp?) BUT...people stop me...literally grab me, and ask me things. weird things...

"how should i handle constipation?" (pregnant woman...about 7 months along)
what can i do to help my cough?
do you know what these bumps are on my back?(as they hike their shirt upin the middle of the isle in wal-mart...)

oh... and, two of my favorites...

what does a hemorrhoid look like? (as they appear more than ready to drop their drawers in a public place)

Can you come look at this? I dont know if its normal (lady in the bathroom pulling me towards her stall)

ok...while your thinking those over, remember....I am not a nurse or Dr. , nor do I LOOK like a nurse or Dr. (at least in my opinion) and I do NOT carry anything that would imply that i'm either a nurse, or a Dr.

This year alone I have been on the scene of three accidents (one was a fifth wheel that flipped and rolled with a family of 6 inside the truck), taken care of two teens who wrecked their bike(motorcycle) in the woods outside my home, helped a man out of a burning house and helped him with his injuries, have delivered a "stuck" baby goat, cared for numeroous injured and sick animals(chipmunks, baby rabbit, lizards, a snake that was hit by a trimmer(*ew), three puppies given up for dead, a chicken,...etc.etc. I have been at 4 births (three in the hospital, one on the way to the hospital) helped an older man who's pace maker was acting up on him (he just grabbed me, so i helped.) until paramedics could arrive, and other smaller things.

It's been like this for 20 years...and I'm thinking I may take the hint and see if I can muster up funds, courage and time to go through nursing school...at least.

...that, or...go see a psychiatrist. *grin*

both??

does this/ did this type of stuff happen to any of you?

Re: hmmm, divine intervention? or "Accident/crisis " prone?

a "potential school" called me back today and said they had nothing "in the actual nursing/"care of patients" field available right now.

Is this common?(!)

Also, I hope some of my stories made you grin,or even laugh.

Thank you for viewing.(would love some replies too)

Agreed. That does not sound like a realistic school.

As long as you feel like you want to help people, then go to nursing school.

That doesn't sound like a real school. If you want to be a nurse go to school and become one. don't let one say there isn't any openings. Go get your LPN or RN or even start as an CNA (most hospitals train you and test you there) if you want it bad enough a no wouldn't slow you down.
