Hi I\'m a student nurse in the UK sayin hello!

Hi everyone,I'm a first year nursing student(started Sept/03)Doing Adult branch.I'm from a place called Warrington in Cheshire?Would be surprised if many of you will have heard of it?
I am loving my course so far, although to be honest a bit of a shock to the system all the study involved after so long out of it!(I'm 32)Just finished my 1st placement in an out-patient department in a local hospital.Everyone from the cleaners up to the top consultants have been fantastic to work with.I'm really lucky as lots of my friends seem to be struggling on difficult placements(staffing etc).
I have had a quick look at the site and find some of your terminology a little different at the min.Hopefully will pick it up as I come on here more often!
I have been going on a site here in the UK for student nurses and have found that extremely helpful with things like assignment writing and referencing etc.Not sure if any of you will be able to access it but will give you the address anyhow it's http://www.arborwood.com.
Then think you just search for the student nurse forum? It would be great if you wanna post on it as would be interesting to compare things.I find it really supportive posting on forums and therefore hope to find some new friends here too!
So bye for now and take care everyone

Hi Lorna,

Although not British myself (my heritage is) I have a group of British friends here in TX!

Good luck on your program. Let us know if our vast experience can help...that's what we're here for.

Re: Hi I\'m a student nurse in the UK sayin hello!

Thanks very much Bonnie for the lovely welcome.I certainly will give you a shout if I have any queries.I'm sure with 27 years experience behind you to date and counting that you are definately the person for the job!
It's nice to hear someone say they still love it as well after all that time.I get a lot of negative comments from people here who have been nursing for a while.I suppose it's because our system is so different here!
Well I hope that in 27 yrs I am still loving it as much as you are. Many thanks again and speak to you again soon
