Do you recommend taking LPN boards...

Hi,
I'm currently in my LPN year. I can do the LPN summer starting in May, and after I finish the summer I can take my LPN Boards. I'm going to shool to be an RN. Did anyone take the LPN board before the RN boards... for practice? Do you think it will help with my next year of school? Just curious. Thank You, Jen

Re: Do you recommend taking LPN boards...

Unless the cost is prohibitive I would take them .. Of course I am biased because I was an LPN for 17 years. You will be able to pick up work if you want and make more money than you would as a student intern or CNA whatever the case may be where you are.

I would definately take them if you can afford them..That might be your only loss is the money..They can't be all that expensive. I believe in 97 the RN in my state was about $140..

Re: Do you recommend taking LPN boards...

I have a friend who, years ago did thke the LPN boards. She was able to work as an LPN while going to school for her RN.
Since I haven't taken the LPN boards, I don't know what kind of practice it would be.
