Complaint of the day.....

I think that the absolute most boring class that I've ever had to take is research. I know that I'm consciously screwing myself because of the amount of effort I'm putting into this class. Lol, I'm thinking that if I bomb the test we had this morning it'll be the best thing that could happen to me. Sometimes I think that the panic that comes with thinking about flunking a class is the next best thing to Ritalin

Re: Complaint of the day.....

I hear you on Research! My beef about the class was our teacher stank! She made it clear that the original teacher bowed out d/t something, and she got conned into it. She proved it, too. I am lucky I got the low 'B' I did.

The only other consolation I have is: I could have had to take Stats. Some schools require it for their BSN; mine didn't. Of course, we got stuck with Research instead.

I would repeat my stats class if it meant that I didn't have to finish my researh class. This class is pure torture.

Lol, I had thought stats was hard to follow until I got into research. I think it'd really be cool if they could make research an elective. Probably not, there would only be two students in the class if it were

I loved Research in Nursing. Then again, I am a bit of a sadist.

You'd have been absolutely thrilled with my teacher. Too bad she retired at the end of our semester, and not before.

Sorry, I'd have to vote for Statistics. Research at least gives you a focus, is easier to "bite into" than endless formulas and means and averages and medians in Stats.

It's like Calculus in college, you study while you're taking it then largely forget about it (less of course you're a math major).

Note, I avoided Stats like the plague! If the BSN program required it, I would NOT have even got near the enterance to apply. Just my nickel's worth.

As nursing is becoming more evidenced based it is important to have some basic research knowledge. It allows a nurse to evaluate not only nursing research but also what the general public is being sold by physicans, drug companies and medical supply companies.
