osteoporosis meds

Any input on whether the major meds to treat osteoporosis are really beneficial? Are the Dexa Scan tests very accurate?
Thanks

Re: osteoporosis meds

Am still waiting to hear how my mother is responding. She complains of pain, and guess what's one of the side effects?

I have heard Boniva is good. What do many of your patients use?

What drug is your mum on?

Is it Actonel by chance?

I have a resident that has unexplained pain in all joints. I wonder if a connection exsists?

Most of our Residents are on Evista, followed a close second by Actonel and one on Fosmax.

Re: osteoporosis meds

I want to say it is Actonel. And I do believe joint pain is one of the side effects listed.
