I look forward to reading about what it is like to be an army nurse,,,,did I read correctly on one post that your wife is also an army nurse. Do you get to be in the same unit? I just pray that you both come home safely and look forward to reading your posts.

ps. please do not feel forgotten because your post is not getting response. We're out here with our hands in the air, raising them up for prayer. God bless you all.
No, my wife is not in the military. She is a clivilian nurse [GS-10] at Madigan Army Medical Center @ FT Lewis, WA.

Thanks for the kind words.

Re: Hello from the Sandbox!

I believe we should always be supportive of the troops. I think your dedication speaks for itself.
I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving holiday!
Take care.

Well, for Turkey day the best I can hope for is not to get mortared, LOL.

However, I will be on R&R with my wife back in the states for Christmas.

Home right now? Not hardly, LOL. If, you mean home for Christmas... well sort of since Texas will always be home. However, my wife & I [when I'm not deployed] live in WA.

Candy canes, oatmeal [indivudual packs], soup [microwavable], paper bowls, and plastic spoons are all good for in the desert.

Re: Hello from the Sandbox!

Hello Cpt Barrett,
My name is Janella and I hope this email find you well in good spirit. I, myself was in the army for over eight years. I was supply but now I am a registered nurse one class away from my BSN. Of course, I plan on coming back in. I just wanted to know what are the conditions like in Iraq for a nurse. Living, working and anything else you can tell me.

Please, remember ALL of us [American troops] that are on foreign soil so far away from home... cause we are just doing our job!

Thanks,
