Pay for Alabama LPNs

Please, please, please....Is there anyone out there that can tell me what LPNs are making in the Montgomery, Alabama area. Please also provide any information on the different pay rates in this area such as hospitals, hospice, nursing homes, etc. I will be a new LPN grad soon and I can't find this information anywhere! Thanks for the info!

Re: Pay for Alabama LPNs

if in south AL -hired by hospitals and nursing homes..the base is $12.75 then shift diff --and a % for yrs of experience..
unless u get on through an agency --they pay $18-$20/hr --and most $22 for weekend shifts

in north ala--the pay is far better-- at some hospitals $17/hr base with shift diff-- and $1 for each certification you have.. i worked there in 2006 at a hospital and made $20/hr --i have been a LPN since 1985 and this was the most i have ever made--and while i was there i met a lot of travel RNS and they say they will never go back to the traditonal being hired directly by a hospital-- the benefit and pay is better and you get to choose what you want and where you want to be..

we have an agency here in Dothan about 5yrs old that pay good--and one that opened in S Georgia that hire LPNS for positions in S AL for $20/hr week shifts and $22/hr for weekend shifts..

Hope this helps--but you have to compare-- some hsopital pay more because their demand is more

Re: Pay for Alabama LPNs

Thanks for your reply Virtuous. That helps give me a good idea. I am actually from South Alabama, not as far south as Dothan, though. I am around the Greenville area, which is a small area about 50 miles south of Montgomery. Do you think that the agency in Georgia that you refer to offers positions in my area. Could you provide their information or the agency that you are referring to in the Dothan area. Thanks for all of your information and help!
