I have applied at every hospital, LTC, and assisted living Facility in a 25-30 mile radius (can't go much further since most local employers feel CNA's are worth minimum wage). Are there any other places that CNA's can be employed? (I applied at a Surgery Center today) I am extremely good at Patiant Transfers, due to me being 6'4" 280lbs lifting even large residents isn't much of an issue.. that may have a bearing on possibilities... thanks prematurely for any advice or help...

Look for private duty positions in the want ads. Answer ads looking for caregivers. If you can afford it, place your own ad, looking for caregiver work. Meanwhile, get a CPR card if you haven't got one yet, and see if you can obtain people who will act as references for you. Other possibilities are home health agencies and staffing agencies. Staffing agencies will place you in LTC facilities and hospitals, at a better rate of pay than you would get if you were a regular employee. You can do home health care working for a home health agency; advantage here is that you get paid the same or better than at LTC facilities to take care of only one patient at home. Good luck.
