| MA wanting to be an RN I am going to be graduating from Heald College in July with my AAS and my Medical Assisting degree. I did this because it was the fastest way to get a degree. But once I get a job as an MA, I want to continue my education to become an RN. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a Nursing school to go to. I have a junior college near me which I was thinking of attending, but I did not know if getting my nursing degree from a junior college would allow me to move up in the field of nursing. I live near Sacramento, CA. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. |

| Re: MA wanting to be an RN Welcome! An associate's degree in nursing will allow you to get pretty much any staff nurse job as an RN, but if you want to work public health or ever do educating or management, you should consider getting your bachelor's degree. A lot of RN's start with their associate's degree, and then do a BSN completion program while they are working as an RN.
