CNA jobs hard to find?

I am almost done with my CNA course and am hearing that it can be difficult to get a job, unless you are right out of high school. This almost seems like there is age discrimination going on. I am in my 40s, and it will be obvious to any employer that I am not right out of a high school CNA course.
What do I do if I cannot get a CNA job?

Re: CNA jobs hard to find?

I'm guessing that you live in Texas (From your username). I don't think it's really that hard to find a CNA job, to be honest. I'm not sure about Texas, but if there are places in Michigan to work for CNA's then I definitely think there will be in places like Texas.

I suggest that you google "CNA jobs, (Your city), TX" and try to find something that way.

Also, a home health position sounds like it might be better for someone in their 40's. I mean, a lot of elderly people would rather not be taken care of by a college punk. At least, that's my theory.

Best of luck on your NCLEX and finding a job!

Cool Re: CNA jobs hard to find?

Try the employment website Job Search | one search. all jobs. Indeed. It compiles job listings from the major employment websites. I always see listings for CNAs in my area. Suspect you can find some opportunities there also. Good luck.

I have seen lots of jobs for CNAs lately advertised either in local newspapers or online. I would use online job search engines as well as newspapers to find positions in my area. You shoud not have any difficulty in securing a position because of your age. As long as you are healthy and able to perform the duties required by the job, you will do fine. Good luck to you!
