Holistic Nurses Want Research Posters

For those of you interested.......

The American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) has issued a call for research posters for the 2008 annual conference, to be held June 2 -5, 2008, at the Mt. Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, NH.

The conference theme is “Renewing Health Care: A Journey to New Heights.” Poster abstracts will be accepted until Dec. 1. All proposals will be peer-reviewed.

According to AHNA, the goals of the conference will be to:
  • illustrate health and healing in an array of systems and settings;
  • articulate holistic approaches that cultivate and advocate for caring environments;
  • forecast holistic nursing's emerging and potential contributions to individual and global wholeness;
  • engage holistic nursing research and education to stimulate evidence-based caring practice and policy advancement; and
  • examine the role of holism in interdisciplinary health and healing transformation.
Submission guidelines and forms can be downloaded at www.ahna.org. For more information contact: Angela Krupica, Director of Education, at education@ahna.org, or call 928-526-2752, ext. 11.
Holistic nursing was recently recognized by the American Nurses Association as an official nursing specialty with defined scope and standards of practice.
Founded in 1981, AHNA is a non-profit membership association for nurses and other holistic healthcare professionals with headquarters in Flagstaff, AZ.
AHNA promotes the education of nurses, other healthcare professionals, and the public in all aspects of holistic caring and healing, serving as a bridge between conventional healthcare and complementary and alternative healing practices.
