Holistic nurses to meet Oct. 13th

This is in New Hampshire, if you are in the area: Holistic nurses to meet Oct. 13 | SeacoastOnline.com

The next meeting of the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 13, at the Candleshop Inn, 44 Freeman St. Longtime member Amy Bregy will be the featured speaker, sharing how essential oils can help "clean" out our sluggish bodies and build our immune systems naturally to help prepare us for the flu and cold season.

She will discuss the latest application of the use of pure therapeutic essential oils, teaching which oils to use if we do get sick without the side effects of over-the-counter and prescription medications. Bregy will also share the famous Raindrop technique and how it helps to protect our bodies.

Bregy was trained through C.A.R.E (the Center for Aromatherapy Research and Education) in 2006 and is an aromatherapist/spiritial healer, owner of Earth's Energy in Dover, N.H., and is also a Reiki master/teacher.
Meetings are not limited to nurses, but are open to all those who share a similar interest. For information, contact Barbara Sheff at 363-4087 or bsheffrn@aol.com.

Uniting nurses in healing has been the AHNA's mission since its founding in 1981 by Charlene "Charlie" Maguire and 26 other nurses. Today, the organization has grown into a professional association with more than 4,000 members in the US and abroad, and Maguire's dream that all nurses would be holistic nurses, is becoming a reality. Holistic nurses embrace nursing practices that foster wellness through a holistic approach to body, mind, and spirit. Understanding that self-care is a critical element to facilitate healing in others, the intention of our local AHNA network is to help nurses and others maintain their own health through learning personal techniques for self-care, and offering opportunities for networking with fellow nurses. By embracing the principles of holism in every aspect of our lives, the nurses are then better able to care for others.

This group has been meeting for almost 10 years now. Meetings are not limited to nurses, but are open to all those who share a similar interest. For information, contact Barbara Sheff at 363-4087 or bsheffrn@aol.com.
