| Short staffing - does anyone close beds? Are you having issues with short staffing? What are some problems and solutions you have encountered? We are having more and more short staffing. So much so wide spread throughout the hospital , and administration has turned deaf ears. There is now a very active more toward obtaining a union. Administration has been addressed with the intentions, and we are waiting for a date for voting. I have not been actively involved hoping administration would step up and offer solutions but instead it is getting ugly and no solutions offered. the vote is now postponed because they are trying to eliminate the charge nurses from the union. Our charge nurses are a new position that are supposed to have no patients but they always do. Another thing is CRRT for those in ICU , we have not started yet just had training but they say in policy we can have 2 patients. From what we have heard most places have 1 patient. |
