| Re: Really Wanted to be Like by Mywork collegues/Nursing staff It may be that they are extremely busy or that they are discussing patient care with eachother. All you can do is be friendly & be yourself- just don't "try too hard" to fit in. If you are being yourself & they still are not open to socializing with you, then that's their loss. Look at it this way- while it's nice to be able to be friends with your co-workers, you are really there to help the patients. If your co-workers choose not to include you in their conversations, just see it as an opportunity to focus that much more of your time & energy helping the patients. |

| Re: Really Wanted to be Like by Mywork collegues/Nursing staff I think all you need to do is give it some time. Most places you work it takes time for people to know you and know what to expect of you. Any form of patient care atmosphere is a busy place and a lot of the time, finding friends is the last thing anyone is thinking about. Mostly it is just getting the things you need to get done, done! Nurses and CENA's or nurse assistants are the busiest bunches, and there is usually rarely time to get to know people. AFter time, you'll fit in, just worry about doing the best job you can, be helpful, and be professional and fair, and trust me, people will start flocking toward you. I wouldn't take things overly personal, because it is true, if you take the time to notice, most people are just busy, not trying to avoid you. |
