| Jot Sheets? Hello everyone. This is my first post here. I have been reading messages for the past hour. Im finding a lot of information here. Im in the hospital setting at this time on a CCU floor, and Im looking for a good jot sheet. The one provided by the hospital really isnt helpful. Ive tried making my own and its frustrating. Does anyone have a good jot sheet you wouldnt mind sharing? You can send it to me privately if you would like, plantinga3@yahoo.com, or post it here. Maybe some others are looking for jot sheet ideas? Thank you. Christina in TX |

| Re: Jot Sheets? by jot sheet do you mean something to take notes on during report? aka your brains (as people I work with call them) Good depends on what you need lots of times I don't take notes. The one we have on our unit is really simple it's basically a paper with lines a small space 1st column for room number, next name where I write age and the initial for MD, then diet, v/s, place for notes...labs, IV, I&O then you can fold it over and write whatever on the back.. I figure I can look up most stuff. No reason to write IV fluids left to count if it's on a pump it will alarm and on gravity I'm doing assessments and will see it and they better not leave 100 to count on an IV running at 150 ![]() Our computer will also print out a worksheet with names and outstanding tests. If that's not what you want for jot sheet I don't know what a jot sheet is sorry.

| Junior Member | Re: Jot Sheets? Christina, I am so sorry to just be answering this now , however, I am fairly new here and there are so many awesome subjects to post that I just now came across this one. I think I may be able to help you. I am an agency nurse and without the various jot sheets in diff. settings I would be lost! Do you still work in a unit or on another assignment. Tell me what you need one for and I will try to send you a few that I have on file. You may or may not like them but I am willing to try to help. Without a jot sheet I would be LOST lol :O) Julee:luck: |

| Re: Jot Sheets? Every place uses different jot sheets, but what I found to work for me is a plain old piece of paper. Depending on how many patients I have, I fold and crease it to make "boxes", so on one sheet I can have six boxes or eight boxes, and in each box I write the patients name, code status, Drs. name, allergies, Dx.,then I write my basic assessment stuff down that I need to remember, using each system. I also put in blood sugar times, and med times and any dressings or labs that need done so I don't forget. This paper is my brain basically, and I can whip it out later when I'm ready to sit down and chart. It can be folded up into a little square and placed in my shirt pocket. No clip boards to carry around, and it never changes wherever I work. You have to find what works for you, but I have used this for eight years, and it hasn't steered me wrong yet. |
