I have worked in several hospitals in Georgia & NC, generally we have nitro drips on the cardiac units and can titrate up to 50mcg before they need to be moved to the unit. Of course I have also worked in small (40-50) bed rural hospitals which the floors have monitors but the ICU watches them and in that case ALL drips need to be in the unit because the nurses are generally med-surg with little or no experience in cardiac drips.
