I was wondering for the fill in the blanks with math problems, do you include units or not, because I got some right when I included units and some wrong when I did include units. Also as far as when you fill in the blank with lab values, different sources will give you slightly different ranges, usually +/- 1 on either side, so how are these questions graded? Thank You for any information.
Yes you can include units however, sometimes units change into a different type of unit if the number is high enough

a very simple example is 1000 mg is 1 g.

Adding units is not necessary if it is included in the question.

Q: How many Gram(s) is 1000 mg

Answer: 1

the (g) was not necessary because it was implied in the question.

You will not have fill in the blank lab values on the nclex because lab values differ (a little) from lab to lab. I know from being an exprienced nurse and working with different facilities that utilize different labs that this is the case.

Remember, if it is a "grey area" question and one that can be arguable to be correct, it will not be on the nclex.

Keep in mind, I am not saying lab values will not be on the NCLEX I am saying it will not be used as a fill in the blank.
