| I am working in San Mateo and living in San Francisco. It is difficult at best to find housing in San Fran. San Fran is expensive and a very competitive market for housing. Don't know if you're in the area or not, but there are parts of town that are NOT safe to live in, and it's hard to know unless you're here or know someone. Try SF Bay Craigslist for listings and Tribe.net for recommendations on the area. SF public transportation is great, so if you do land a spot in the city, having a car isn't necessary. |

| Re: San Fran where will you be working in the city? UCSF? i'm taking a leave of absence from there for 12 weeks to help take care of a ill family member...SOOO I have a small studio 7min. walking distance to there. It's in the UCSF/inner sunset area-very safe, great restaurants, Golden gate park, muni N line to downtown, ect. anyway, i haven't given it a great deal of thought but you could stay there in a pinch for a helluva lot less than hotel. let me know what your thoughts are if you're interested.
