Nurse Jackie on Showtime

It premieres tonight.

She's an ER nurse.

She uses drugs.

It should be very interesting. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the show.

As I said in the other post, this show is horrible and portrays a negative image to nurses everywhere. Here are just a few examples of things that can be found in the first episode that aired on YouTube:

1. She cannot snort her day without, "16 grains, no more, no less"
of oxycodone.

2. She forges the organ donation section of a guys license to make him
an organ donor after he dies of a subdural hematoma.

3. She almost intentionally kills a guy because he was abusive to women.

4. She screamed an obscenity into one guy's detached ear and flushed it
down the toilet.

5. She screws a pharmacist in the med room for Vicodin. Then, she goes
home to her husband and kids, where she once again puts on her
wedding ring.

This is horrible. I am personally going to unsubscribe to showtime in protest of this show.

I get 'basic' cable, so won't be able to watch it either way.

You can watch the first episode on the internet at several different sites. I saw it and was not favorably impressed. I don't see me watching the show.

I don't have Showtime, nor does it sound like I should look for it on the www.

BTW, anybody watched HawthoRNe starring Jada Pinkett Smith. I've only seen the previews but I think they portray a male nurse in a good way.

I watched the preview online, and in 5 minutes, "Nurse Jackie" received THREE boob grabs from various doctors, etc...... No Thanks!

Another nurse brought HawtoRNe to my attention. I don't think it has started yet.

Maybe we can compare and contrast the way nurses are portrayed in the two different series.

To be honest, I get tired of the way nurses are portrayed. The only nurse I've EVER really seen portrayed in a good manor is the girl on Scrubs. I guess it's Turk's wife. I can't think of her name or her character's name.

No. I made a post about it on the home page yesterday and received an email about it almost immediately.

Basically saying that there is another show about an RN that is supposed to shine a positive light on Nurses.
