    pyloric stenosis

Have you had a child with Pyloric Stenosis?
It is most common in little boys, from the age of 3 weeks to 5 months.
My son just went through the hell of this condition.
What happens is your child vomits everything that he eats. And its not just spit-up it is projectile vomiting. You will notice a decrease in wet and dirty diapers. With my son he didn't have a dirty diaper for 5 or 6 days.
    He ended up getting dehydrated.
The only way to fix Pyloric Stenosis is surgery. As a mother I've gotta say that the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with in my entire life was to see my baby in the hospital with an IV in his head. I was so helpless there was nothing I could do for the poor guy.
He got the surgery and is going great now. He is able to eat again and he is having plenty of wet and dirty diapers.
So as scary as it all was, it was worth it. So if you do have to go through this situation Pyloric Stenosis is treatable and really there isn't anything to worry about. Chances are the surgeon will have donet the procedure before and everything is going to be ok.

    Re: pyloric stenosis

Well, I am a female, and had pyloric stenosis. GI tract is still funky. I guess the doc had prescribed some drops for me. Of course, that was in the Stone Ages, too, before everything took a turn toward surgery.
