    Mississippi: Nursing school crisis

Mississippi: Nursing school crisis By Rachel Leifer:"Robin Strom said she would love to teach nursing one day - if it paid as well as working in a hospital. She plans to graduate in August with a nursing degree from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, opening the door for her to take a job that pays an average of $47,220 a year in Mississippi."

What was I reading, we'll be able to graduate enough nurses to keep up with retirements till 2012, then we'll start falling way behind?

If we don't figure out how to attract some faculty and soon, things are going to get beyond hairy in our next decade.

Did you know we moved from Arizona to Mississippi? Anyhow, I also happened to address this very problem in an article I published not long ago:

Let's hope some nurses see the sense of leaving bedside patient care for teaching well on towards their retirement years as I suggest
