Question am I being ripped off

I am about to finish my first travel assignment in ca. I am making just under 30$. I do not have health insurance and was not compensated for that in any way.(more an hour). I was not offered a completion bonus and i am renewing my stay an additional 13 weeks with and offered 1$ for this. I feel I have done my company a favor by staying in the same place and complex. They have not offered my any perks. I just got the travel expenses it cost to come here and actually it did not even come close to my cost. If this is how traveling works all over then I might be better off being regular staff at my old hospital , but I love traveling and would like to hear from a seasoned traveler or anyone who can shed some light on this subject.
    frustrated......................................in ca

you might want to consider another travel company. ca is a little higher than 30. blended. and you should get free medical and dental from day one. ultimatenurse.com has a review of travel companies section that is now my travel bible. call around and make sure your recruiter and you work well together. good luck and let us know what happens. another company can renew your contract and take over housing very easitly and probably for more $$$ and better benefits. who do you travel with now? out of curiosity.

What company are you with? you should atl least be with a company that will offer you insurance after 30 days or day one benefits. There should be no reason that you don't have it unless you wanted to increase your salary. and increase in salary is a plus without those perks!!!!!! under 30 is not worth it! you can stay at home and work for ANY HOSPITAL for that pay! Please do your homework! Good luck

i agree with the previous response. what matters pay IN LIEU of benefits or benes starting on day one. up the pay too. recruiters make money off of you and they will make alot off of you if you let them. extention bonuses should be given along with an increase in pay. there are too few of us, too many companies, too many sick people, and too many hospitals for us to not make money.
