24 February 2005: Bungling nurse struck off:"A nurse has been struck off the register for risking patients' health after ignoring bosses' orders to keep away from the drip feeds. Maureen Zulu, 43, tried to put antibiotics through a patient's blood transfusion line while working at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, in 2002. The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) heard how staff caught Zulu as she was about to put the antibiotics in the wrong tube. When questioned she asked: "Where am I supposed to put it?"
