    Insurance fraud on Primetime

Did anyone else see Primetime tonight with the insurance fraud for cosmetic surgery? They had surgery "recruiters" working in Nail Salons who would get people to go to places like California for endos, colonoscopies etc then charge the insurance companines lots more and have enough left over for cosmetic surgeries. Wonder if good old Arnie is paying attention to those things going on in Calif. They said 9 surgery centers were closed because of this investigation...how many more are there?

Yep, it's a major investigation, hope they can round up as many of the culprits, and recover as much of the money as possible.

Medical Scam Cost California Millions:"The ringleaders lured mostly immigrant, low-income workers with company health insurance, promising them up to $5,000. It even became a family affair says BlueCross BlueShield, which is suing to get its money back. Last August, authorities arrested alleged ringleaders of a southern California health scam that has bilked insurers for more than $100 million -- recruiting 5,000 patients from all over America to come to this one surgery center for unnecessary procedures. As CBS News Correspondent Jerry Bowen reports, it was just one of the nearly 100 clinics involved in a massive $1 billion fraud."

You have to wonder how something like this could have been allowed to go on as long as it did.
