Just wanted to start off with an intro on me and a big thank you for running these forums!

My name is Dave and I am from Valparaiso, IN (chicago area). I am 26 and have worked at Ford Motor Co. Assembly plant in Chicago for the past 5 years. I am taking a buyout the first of January and am moving on with my life. I also have two boys, 3 yrs. and 18 months.

My wife is in her first year of clinicals and I just finished up my second year of school (going p/t during work) and have all my pre-reqs complete. I hope to get into the RN program in the Fall of 07. I also just enrolled in an 8 month Cardiology Technician Program (http://www.alliedinstitute.com/cardiology.htm) that will start the first week of February. Do you think I could get an entry level job with this? If so what would be the pay $10-$15?

I figured this would get me into the medical field while I am finishing up my nursing degree. I also own a web design company www.nervstudios.com and will use this to supplement my income while I'm in school.

I catch a lot of crap from co-workers about going into this field, but I just try to ignore them because I know this is what I want to do and am so excited about it! Thanks again for allowing me to have a place to go during this crazy transition in my life.
