A young lady entered the doctor's office carrying an infant who had been breastfed up to that point.

"Doctor," she explained, "the baby seems to be ailing. Instead of gaining weight, he lost three ounces this week."

The doctor examined the child and then asked the woman to take off her blouse and bra. He started to fondle the woman’s breasts to try and stimulate milk production.

After a moment or two, he started to powerfully sucking first on one nipple then the other. This went on for several minutes.

"Young lady," he finally announced, "No wonder the baby is losing weight, you haven't got any milk!"

“Well of course not!" she explained. "It's not my child, it's my sister's! But I’m glad I came anyway.”
