In '82 nurse Genene Jones killed 4 wk old Rolando Jones and 15 mo old Chelsea Ann MacClellan while she was working as a nurse in a hospital, then a doctor's office. She was tried and sentenced to 99 years in '84. These two are the ones she was convicted of killing in cold blood--there are many others. She murdered these little innocents for her own self-glory (court testimony told how she was very good at starting IV's and resuscitation--she got a real high from being the center of attention). She has never shown any remorse. Having already been up for parole 5 times, there is another hearing scheduled for June '05. You can read an account in the San Antonio Express-News 10 Feb '05 edition. You can do as I have done 5 times and contact the Texas State Board of Pardons and Paroles at bpp-pio@tdcj.state.tx.us and request her parole be denied. In addition to the heartbreak she brought to many families, she dirtied our profession ("Killer Nurse"). I take it personally. In the name of justice she should serve her sentence at least until her mandatory parole release date, 17 Oct '17. Jones is 54 and likely to be alive and well when she gets out.

No parole? Are you sure? Stranger things have happened. I'd feel a lot better knowing a slew of e-mails, letters, and phone calls had been made spelling out exactly how we feel about this to the parole board.
I'll be sending my note.
