I agree with cassio, if they could kick you out for that, we would lose a few. Had one student whose due date was the day of finals. But she waited and had the baby on winter break, Had 2 students who got pregnant during winter break. There is enough stuff going on for us to worry about. And I done think that would be one for you to worry over. It'll be ok. Good Luck

I let my tutors know about the pregnancy today and you were right they never kicked me off the course. i am so releived. i can relax and carry on enjoying my degree. anyway just thought i would let you know and say thanx for your advice.
At the college where I'm teaching clinicals it does say in the student handbook to notify staff as soon as you know you are pregnant but that's really to protect you from exposure to patients who have things you can catch and pass on to the baby.
Hello Vicky,
Getting pregnant during nursing school happens and nursing schools accept the fact. What's important is that you have a support system in place that will allow you to continue school and your studies after the child is born.
Once you've finished school and gotten your license, there are usually plenty of different shifts available to help you manage child care.
The trick to to hang in there till you get to that point.
Wish you luck!

I had a very "pregnant" class - 7 out of 44, me included. I found out I was pregnant 3 weeks into first semester and delivered 1/2 way through 2nd. Everything went great. The hospital staff during clinicals even look out for you
I also got pregnant 12 years ago - 6 weeks into paramedic school and delivered 1/2 way through field internship. Now that was a trip
My hubby now refuses to let me return to school for fear of a 3rd child
Good luck in whatever happens
Just to reassure & offer you some encouragement, I was pregnant my first year & delivered my baby 9 days after the last day of class, I was treated just like everyone else except being put in situations that may have posed a hazard to the baby. GOOD LUCK & HANG IN THERE!!! A nursing career will be very helpful in providing for a family, great job security!!!
