Hello!

I'm Angela and I'm a student at the University of Cincinnati. I read about your website on another forum and decided to come check it out! I work with doctors, nurses, fire departments, police departments and even the military, helping protect them against pathogens that they encounter while responding to emergency situations. I’m excited to read your stories, thoughts, and opinions as well as contributing my own regarding infection control. Any questions, feel free to ask.

Hi. I've been a LPN in Nevada for two years. I self-reported three med errors in one year (no one was hurt, thankfully; and I understand why they occured), and I was fired after the third. Then, I was reported to the Board. I don't even want to be a nurse anymore. What I am wondering - and why I joined here - is whether any of you know if I can still get a license to work in the medical field, such as for surgical tech, if I choose to surrender my nursing license now. Or would any other type of professional license (even outside the medical field) I may get in the future be affected ? I do not wish to sign their probationary agreement as it says I would be financially responsible for them monitoring me (and it doesn't specify the cost). I can't even afford an attorney. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have been lurking on this website for a few weeks now and I must say that there is an abundance of information to be found on here. I am a labor & delivery nurse I also do mother/baby, special care nursery and med/surg. I have been in OB for the past 9 yrs and I am interested in traveling starting the begininning of the year, hopefully doing postpartum which I love. I am looking to gain as much information about traveling as I possibly can.

My wife and I (both RNs) are coming to Fla just as soon as we sell our house and will be looking for nursing jobs in the Sarasota area. Now we have to start what looks like a vey unpleasant task of obtaining a Fla license. Wish us luck!

I have been reading around the site for a couple of weeks and decided to join. I am looking into travel nursing the first of Jan 2010. I have been working in Emergency Nursing for almost 13 years and the last 7 years I have been a flight nurse. I LOVE what I do, but feel I need to get away for a bit. Any advice would be great!
