I recently found this site and have been enjoying the blogs.
I work for a company that utilizes telephonic nursing (www.yoursupportnurse.com) and would love to hear from other nurses that also do telephonic nursing or those that have utilized those services. Telephonic nursing has been popular in Europe for quite a while and now becoming a great means of offering assistance to those in need here in the USA. What are your thoughts about nursing licensure as we interact with those clients/patients in different states other than which you hold your license? Do you consider yourself a consultant utilizing your nursing background thus leaving out the license issue? How does the military handle nursing licensure when a nurse from NY is stationed in Italy? I presume there is a Federal-type of licensure covering this nurse. Is that feasible for tele-nursing- a blanket coverage? I welcome and appreciate ideas and comments!
