I don't understand....
Just because you are:
- President,CEO or top Adminstrator of a Hospital/Healthcare Facility..
- Physician..
-Nurse..
-Movie Star...
-a Monetary Donator
-President of the United States..
.......etc, etc
You are considered VIP when you are a patient in a hospital?
Does that mean you should get Special treatment? Special care? Gifts ...WHAT?????
I am Sorry, but I feel thatit may be Appropriate in Other Settings, but not in the hospital. I consider all of my patients VIP! Not one of my patients get more attentive care than the other, no matter the disease, income status, type of insurance,race/ethnicity or occupation.
I respect and recognize individuals honorable titles, but we are all human, and I feel that we all deserve equal excellent treatment and nursing care.
Sometimes it makes me sick to see how managers behave when they hear about the arrival of a "VIP". I remember at one facility, the house supervisor, charge nurse and some other Administrator made sure that they was present on the floor to greet this "VIP"person. None of the other patient's know who you are. Just because you stop by to say hi to this "VIP" does not mean that you were genuinely concerned about them.
Oh yeah, and staff has to make sure everything is done on schedule.... C'mon, things don't run smoothly on schedule any other day. Why fake it. And shouldn't we be extra careful as to not make mistakes everytime we work all through the day?
Ok,I guess I can see the private room for the Pres of US and a movie star for security reasons, BUT doctors and nurses should not expect or demand private rooms if one is not available.
Well, this subject just came across my mind and I thought I would write about it. Care to discuss your thoughts? Feel free to reply or send me a message.
I will probably make up a quiz/survey soon to get other people opinions on the subject.

| | True....I agree that everyone is a 'VIP'. However, 'some' can make things a bit more 'difficult'; example, Naomi Campbell. *Sigh* Such egos! |
